Job Description:


To ensure all Save the Children buildings including office, guest house, warehouse and etc. are cleaned and all hygiene and health advisory are followed based on SCI standards.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.


Reports to: Admin Officer


  • To work at all times as per instruction and under the supervision of the Administrative Officer.
  • To clean everywhere (main office, guest houses and warehouse) thoroughly and follow all principles of hygiene, including washing windows, wiping fly screens and walls, washing curtains, pillows and other laundry.
  1. Provide hot water on time to all staff in Kabul office in relevant places and make sure to provide his services to facilitate, and in arrangement of refreshment for workshops and trainings.
  • To agree daily with the Administrative Officer which areas have priority to ensure high standards of hygiene across all premises
  • To sweep all floors & carpets, empty all bins, check for insects and use spray or powder if necessary.
  • To clean all bathrooms daily and fill all water tanks. Male guards can be asked for assistance.
  • Keep the dining area in the hostel clean at all times and ensure that the student rooms are cleaned and properly maintained by themselves.
  • Ensure that none of the children can come in contact with any of the cleaning materials.
  • To use at all times the correct cleaning material & equipment, including gloves if suitable, and report any shortages immediately to the Administrative officer.
  • Monitor and clean all Stoves on a daily basis during cold season, ensuring fire safety.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings with all support staff.
